Remote access security is how a site lets outside users reach systems without exposing them to the internet. A VPN, a vendor relay or a zero-trust broker is used instead of direct port forwarding. Multi-factor authentication, named accounts and logging make that access accountable.
Every remote viewing convenience is a door. The job is to keep the door narrow, logged and closed when idle.
Why open ports fail
A forwarded camera or recorder port is found by scanners within hours. Default or reused passwords then give an attacker footage, network access or a launching point inside the site.
A workable pattern
Terminate access at a VPN or broker, require multi-factor authentication, give each person their own account and log sessions. Review that access list when staff leave, and remove rules that no longer serve a purpose.
